Tchaikovsky’s Inspiration

March 31, 2012 ~ 8:00 PM

April 1, 2012 ~ 2:00 PM

Guest conductor/composer Loris Tjeknavorian joins the orchestra for a program by masters of composition from such diverse cultures as Russia, Armenia, Greece and Persia. Hear Tchaikovsky’s splendid Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique,” Khatchaturian’s vividly colorful and deliciously tuneful Three Pieces from the Gayane Ballet, and Theofanidis’ Rainbow Body, a work inspired by the music of medieval mystic Hildegard von Bingen. Rounding out this rich concert is the American premiere of Maestro Tjeknavorian’s Ararat Suite, depicting the foundation of Christianity in Armenia.

You will want to reserve your seats early for this concert!
